Think Key Monastery at sunrise, Chandratal under a blanket of stars, and long drives through landscapes that look prehistoric — bare brown mountains, turquoise rivers and villages that have hung on to cliff edges for a thousand years.
We run 4×4 convoys with experienced captains, proper acclimatization days, and stays chosen for warmth — literally and figuratively. The route takes in Kaza, Langza’s fossil fields, Hikkim’s world-highest post office and the impossible hairpins of Kunzum La.
Spiti sits above 3,800 metres, so every itinerary builds in slow starts, hydration checks and oxygen support. The season runs June to late September, when the passes open and the valley glows gold at sunset. It is demanding, remote and absolutely worth it.
