Kerala Tour with Vagamon: Munnar, Thekkady & Alleppey

A 05-night, 06-day Kerala tour ex-Cochin that adds Kerala’s well-kept secret — Vagamon — to the classic Munnar–Thekkady–Alleppey circuit, finishing with a Cochin heritage city tour.

Starting price is ₹20,000 per person with deluxe accommodation (02 nights Munnar, 01 night Thekkady, 01 night Vagamon, 01 night in a sharing houseboat), sedan cab for the full circuit and veg meals as per the day plan.

Itinerary Breakdown

Arrive at Cochin airport / railway station / bus stand, meet our representative and proceed to Munnar (115 km, ~4 hrs). En route visit Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls and the spice plantations; Adventure Park & jeep safari are optional (own cost, reach before 3 PM). Check in at Munnar and relax for the rest of the day.

After breakfast, cover Munnar’s highlights: Tea Museum, Rose Garden, Botanical Garden, Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Echo Point, Blossom Park and Eravikulam National Park (closed Feb–Apr during the goat breeding season). Return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Thekkady (92 km, ~3 hrs), exploring a church, cardamom trees, spice plantation and an Ayurvedic garden en route. On arrival visit the Periyar Tiger Reserve and Periyar Lake — lake boating available at extra charges. Overnight at Thekkady.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Vagamon (45 km, ~1.5 hrs), a small hill town in south-eastern Idukki — Kerala’s well-kept secret and a fusion of nature and adventure. Explore Vagamon Lake, Vagamon Meadows, the Pine Forest, Thangal Para and the glass bridge before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Vagamon.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Alleppey (100 km, ~3 hrs). Board your houseboat at 12:30 PM for 21 pleasing hours: endless paddy fields, mesmerising backwaters, unsullied villages, lined coconut trees and the great Vembanad. Lunch, snacks, drinks and dinner on board. Overnight on the houseboat.

After breakfast on the houseboat, check out and drive to Cochin (85 km, ~2 hrs), the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’. Sightseeing covers St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, the Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue and the Marine Drive walkway with boating. Our representative then sees you off at Cochin airport / railway station / bus stand.

Notes

  • Rooms are non-AC and the houseboat AC operates 9 PM to 6 AM; hotel check-in around 12:00–1:00 PM and check-out before 8:30 AM on travel days so all sightseeing is covered.
  • Adventure activities and any entry fees are chargeable and payable directly; the Periyar Tiger Reserve visit and lake boating are at your own cost.
  • Any places visited apart from the itinerary are charged additionally as per the extra km required for the allotted vehicle.
  • Confirm with a 50% advance; a 25% token amount is accepted when booked 15+ days before travel, with the remaining 25% due 7 days before departure.
  • The token advance is non-refundable; the balance 50% is collected on arrival.
  • Cancellation: 30+ days before travel — ₹5,000 per room or 25% (whichever higher); 16–30 days — 35%; 10–15 days — 50%; within 10 days — 100% retention.
  • Maximum 3 adults per room; the third occupant is provided a mattress/rollaway bed. Children below 6 stay free without an extra bed.
  • Rates may vary during festive seasons and long weekends; hotels are subject to availability and similar hotels may be provided.
  • No refund for unused services due to bad weather, strikes, road blocks or any factor beyond our control.
